Sölden Summer Guide
Summer usually sees both Sölden’s glaciers, Tiefenbach and Rettenbach open, however its not going to be open at all this summer.
Usually its a good size for a summer slide, and steep enough to ensure you’ll never has to skate no matter how slushy things get. There are buses from town to the glacier (45mins), or to drive, follow the main town road as if driving to Obergurgl then take a right as you leave town at the sign for the glacier.
At the bottom of Rettenbach glacier, you’ll find a restaurant, the excellent Salomon bar and a couple of shops. The Base summer terrain park is located off run 32, and includes a stack of rails; straight, kinked, rainbow, gondola pods, you know the things, and also various size kickers.
Summer Camp BASE run 5 camps from the end of June to the end of July. The Burton and Salomon teams are regular visitors. A 6 day camp costs from 210 euros for camping or 365 for a half board hotel.
