British & Northern ski + board shows 2005

The British ski + board show runs this year at the Birmingham NEC from Friday 21 st to Sunday 23 rd October. Celebrating its 25th year, it will be held alongside the new Global Adventure sports + travel show which covers surfing, sailing, safari's and the like. The Northern ski + board show will be held a week later, Saturday 29 th and Sunday 30 th October at the G-Mex Centre in Manchester

Show Organiser Karena Cooper said: “We’re really excited this year to be bringing a brand new show to Birmingham. Many of our regular visitors to the British ski + board show enjoy other adventurous sports and active holidays, so the Global Adventure sports + travel show is the perfect addition. A ticket to either show gives visitors access to both halls, so they can find out about exciting activities which take place all year round from skiing and boarding in the winter to mountain biking and climbing during the summer months.”

For visitors seeking inspiration and advice to help them achieve the extra-ordinary, a visit to the talk theatre is a must. The Venture Challenge Group will be sharing their experiences, showing film footage from their annual Race to the Magnetic North Pole and recruiting for all five of their global challenges – the Polar, Bolivia (mountain bike), Belize (jungle), Greenland (snow kite) and Mongolia (horseback) Challenges.

Tourist boards from all over the world will be giving top tips on the best destinations for thrilling holidays. Plus representatives from the leading ski resorts in France, Switzerland, Austria, Canada and the USA will be on hand at the British and Northern ski + board shows to help visitors take to the slopes this winter.

Once you’ve chosen you’re destination, you’ll be able to get yourself kitted out with the latest fashions and equipment from some of the UK’s best outdoor sports retailers including Ellis Brigham, TSA and Snow + Rock.

A week after the NEC shows, there’s a second chance to experience the world of skiing and snowboarding with the Northern ski + board show on Saturday 29 th and Sunday 30 th October at the G-Mex Centre in Manchester. The northern show was a great success in 2004, increasing in size by 40% and attracting over 10,000 visitors and this year’s show promises to be even bigger and better.

As with the NEC show, the Northern ski + board show features plenty of entertainment for the crowds, including displays from some of the world’s greatest aerialist skiers who will be performing breathtaking stunts and tricks from a 40ft big air ramp.
