Chevrolet Grand Prix

3-4 February 07

The Ticket To Ride (TTR) World Snowboard Tour takes a transatlantic step to Mt Bachelor USA, as TTR FIVE(5)STAR event Chevrolet Grand Prix gets ready to welcome big-name riders to two 850 TTR Ranking Point earning contests, Halfpipe and Slopestyle, 03rd & 04th February, 2007.

Expected riders include TTR World Nr 2 Scotty Lago (USA) who, with a win at Saturdays Halfpipe contest can expect to drop his lowest result and marginally take the Mens TTR Ranking lead over current TTR World Nr 1, Antti Autti (FIN). Both X-Games Gold Halfpipe champion, Steve Fisher (USA), standing at TTR World Nr 15, and current TTR World Nr 18, Louie Vito (USA), may slip into the Mens TTR Top 10 if either rider claims1st spot.

Looking to add another TTR result to her ranking score is transition queen and recent X-Games Gold Halfpipe winner, Torah Bright (AUS), who could jump back into the TTR Top 20 with a podium result a likely scenario given her average TTR halfpipe career stats of 1st place. For X-Games Silver medalist and last seasons SIX(6)STAR Burton US Open 2nd place achiever, Gretchen Bleiler (USA), her finishing rank will be her first result on the Womens TTR Ranking List 0607 presented by Swatch.

"The TTR plugs the Grand Prix into the world tour schedule and solidifies the series as a top-level competition that continues to push the progression of snowboarding," said Grand Prix Director Eric Webster. "It's where all the highest profile events come together for a global tour and validates the level of competition that the Grand Prix is able to continue to provide."

Follow the Chevrolet Grand Prix halfpipe action on USA national TV broadcaster NBC, Sunday, 11th February, 14:30 ET, and on Versus at 17.00 ET. Sundays Slopestyle Qualifiers and Finals, part of the Paul Mitchell Progression Session, will air at 18.00 ET on Versus.
