SCUK Summer Bash 2006

The Low-down

The Summer Bash, now in its fifth year, is a friendly gathering of snowboarders searching for that perfect summer weekend. One minute you’ll be thrusting the butt of your assault rifle into your adversary’s temple, sorry, I mean paint-balling. The next, you’ll be chilling in a field with a cold beer, lightly griddling a tuna steak and listening to soulful grooves courtesy of Tony B. Then, it’s a quick game of jumpers for goalposts before heading off to Tamworth SnowDome to enjoy the summer snow and to rip their freestyle park apart.

SCUK Members are naturally special to us. Book in advance for the “Summer Bash” snowboarding with Tamworth SnowDome and mention you’re a SCUK Member, because you’ll save £13 on the usual cost of the session. On top of that one lucky SCUK Member is going to ride away with a week at Dragon Lodge in Tignes! Remember, it's never too late to join SCUK and start saving money.

Regardless, everybody is welcome, whether you're a SCUK Member, SCUK user, SCUK lurker or none of the above. Good people, good times, and well... we can only guess about the weather.

Itinerary

Friday 14th
Evening: Arrive at the campsite for your light aperitif or scrumpy straight from the flagon.

Saturday 15th
09.30 – 13.30: Paint-balling
14:00 – 19.00: Music, BBQ, drinks and team games at the campsite.
19.45 – 20.45: Adrenalin Tubing at the SnowDome.
22.00 – 01.30: Boarding at the SnowDome.
01.30 onward: Back to the campsite for a verse of ‘Cum-ba-ya’ round the BBQ

Sunday 16th
Morning: Rise with bruises and hangovers
Afternoon: Tearful farewells and the brave few can ride Epic skatepark

Dragon Lodge prize

A one week stay at Dragon Lodge in Tignes; any available week you want from October 2006 to May 2007, or even Summer 2007. You will need your SCUK membership card to claim the prize on the night.

Half board - i.e. B&B plus 6 evening meals with wine.
Return airport transfer.
Use of any Option test centre board.
Dragon Lodge merchandise - T, Sweat and beanie.
Not included: Flights, insurance or lift pass.

EVENT DATE Friday 14th til Sunday 16th July 2006.
LOCATION Tamworth SnowDome.
CAMPING* £10 per tent for the weekend. Cash on arrival.
PAINT-BALLING £30 for half day with 300 paintballs.
ADENALIN TUBING £5 pre booked SCUK members or £8 otherwise.
BOARDING £15 for adults SCUK members or £28 otherwise.

*The campsite is two miles from the SnowDome in Drayton Bassett. Alternatively, there’s a Travel Inn across the road from the SnowDome.
