Ground breaking park design at last major International 5(FIVE) STAR event Äthsthetiker Wängl Tängl

Returning to the Austrian Alps, the TTR World Snowboard Tour continues with top slopestyle park action at FIVE(5)STAR event Aesthetiker Jam Waengl Taengl, Mayrhofen, Austria, 22nd-25th March, 07. Top four riders now confirmed, the Waengl Taengl represesnts the last chance for riders to jostl for all important TTR World Number 5 and TTR Top 10 positions.

Organised by the infamous Aesthetiker crew in Zillertal, the FIVE(5)STAR Waengl Taengl mixes snowboard, skateboard, music and art for an event with a true personality of its own. With over ten different nations from a 48-man start list, the best-of-3-runs format will decide who proceeds to Saturday’s Finals and win a share of the 30,000USD prize purse and 850 TTR Ranking Points.

Local Austrian heroes like Thomas ‘Beckna’ Eberharter (AUT), Stefan Gimpl (AUT), Sani Alibabic (AUT), Friedl Kolar (AUT), Steve Gruber (AUT), Wolle Nyvelt (AUT) and Andreas ‘Mone’ Monsberger (AUT) will join hot international names such as Quentin Robbin (NZE), Martin Cernik (CZE), Danny Larsen (NOR) & Aleksi Vanninen (FIN).

Looking to make a difference to his current ranking score is TTR World Nr 9, Henning Marthinsen (NOR). Marthinsen (NOR) will increase his TTR Ranking Points if he finishes 19th position or higher. For TTR World Nr 12, Arthur Longo (FRA), having won the TTRFIVE(5)STAR O’Neill Pro Freestyle quarterpipe contest and finishing 9th place at TTRFIVE(5)STAR Oakley Arctic Challenge, a possible win at the Waengl Taengl would see him drop his 34th place in the halfpipe at the TTRSIX(6)STAR O’Neill Evolution and move him to straight to TTR World Nr 10 position spot on the TTR World Ranking List presented by Swatch. Both Sam Cullum (GBR) and Wolle Beer (AUT) could easily move into the TTR Top 30 with a podium result.

Post-crowning the TTR Tour Champions, the calendar continues through to the end of April 2007. All TTR contests attended until then will provide riders with TTR Ranking Points for the 06/07 TTR Ranking List presented by Swatch to add to their overall ranking score until May 01st, 2007
