26 Feb-1 Mar 07
This year the Xbox® Big Day Out a unique freestyle ski and snowboard competition is set to be bigger than ever as the amazing DJ line up for the event was announced and details of a unique world attempt were revealed. This is in addition to the usual top-class action with riders from around the globe competing to out-do each other on the slopes.
Crowds of up to 30,000 are expected to come along to the four days of music, festivities and worldclass snowboarding in the centre of Val dIsère, France. Parties & live performances throughout the week will culminate on the snowboarding finals night with DJ sets from the David Guetta, Scratch Perverts and Fabio & Grooverider.
The likes of Mathieu Crepel, Markku Koski, and Hampus Mosesson will be battling it out on the slopes, not only to scoop the main event prize, but also to set a new world record for the highest air off Le Monster - the biggest hip jump the Alps has ever seen.
The event that started a decade ago as a friendly snowboard riding session and mountain barbeque has grown into one of the biggest events on the European snowboarding calendar and this year its set to be the biggest yet with five days of action both on and off the slopes:
Monday 26th February Qualifying Stages
Tuesday 27th February Qualifying Stages
Wednesday 28th February World Record Session
Thursday 1st March Grand Final
Even if you dont make it to Val dIsere, you can get your own slice of the action. All week Xbox will be giving you the chance to game and chat on Xbox Live with the riders and DJs in their Game with Fame sessions, playing the latest next generation Xbox 360 games with gamers across Europe via Xbox Live.
