British Championships - AIM Series

11-18 March 06

Its that time of year again, the culmination of the UK AIM series in the form of the British Championships in Laax, Switzerland.

Orange Air-time jump Running from the 11th-18th March, the event will see the best UK riders compete in the Half-pipe, Boardercross, Big-Air and Slopestyle events, and just in case thats not enough, don't forget about the Orange Air Time. A number of probably half-cut boarders will be dropped from a crane into a quarterpipe, its a knockout competition, whoever gets the biggest air wins ...

We'll be at the event this year, bringing you the results and photos at the end of each day, so keep checking this site for updates.

Ugly Duckling As with past championships, sure there's going to be some great boarders battling it out, but the apres ski is also full on with a number of big name DJ's and bands performing during the week, mostly from the multi-story car park aka the Riders Palace.

Innsbruck (AUT) 15.11.2011 - Burton Snowboards and LAAX have decided to postpone the Burton European Open from January 2012 to the end of February due to the current weather conditions. -16Nov11
British Snow Tour dates announced
The British Snow Tour is back for its tenth year with a new format that will consolidate this seasons action into a three event tour, kicking off with the British Indoor Championships at SNO!zone Castleford in September. -6Jul11
Busy week at the Brits in Laax
Laax in Switzerland was once again the location for the biggest week in British snowboarding, the Brits 2011. Snowboardcross, Big Air, Halfpipe and Slopestyle competitions as well as plenty of messy parties completed the week. -26Mar11
Peetu and Kelly Clark win halfpipe at BEO11
The Halfpipe finals closed a week of competition at the Burton European Open in Laax, and it was Kelly Clark and Peetu Piiroinen who came away with the top honours. -16Jan11

Laax, Switzerland

Excellent snowsure resort with a good long season. The slopes are great for freestylers and freeriders alike, as well as suiting beginners. The resort can be slack at opening lifts and the off-piste gets tracked out within hours of a dump.

Freeriding: 80% - Trees & some good off-piste
