Crans-Montana Champs 2007

2-11 February 07

There has been plenty of action the last few days in the contest area of the CHAMPS Open in Crans- Montana, as the cat drivers and shapers attack their work in the snowpark with gusto. Thanks to the recent snow storms, the Big Air portion of the park will be finished this weekend, and now that temperatures actually feel like winter outside, the snow blowers can produce the artificial snow necessary to complete the construction of the Quarter Pipe. So, conditions are looking good for the 2007 edition of the Crans-Montana CHAMPS Open, and the biggest names in the world of freestyle skiing and snowboarding will be in attendance.

For the first time in Crans-Montana, the action at the most important winter sporting event in the French speaking part of Switzerland will start on Friday, February 2nd. All the new aspects added to this legendary event (after 15 years in Leysin) are eagerly awaited, especially the Freeski and Backcountry Kicker competitions. Of course, to finish things off in style, the final 3 days of the event will play host to the last major TTR World Snowboard Tour stop in Europe this season.

Take note as well, that the slopes surrounding the resort of Crans-Montana currently offer some of the most favorable skiing and snowboarding conditions in Europe. So, dont miss your chance to check out, and enjoy this resort in the heart of the beautiful Valais region, while taking in world class freeski and freestyle snowboarding events!
