The winter X Games returns to tignes for 2013 season.
With the first event of the 2013 global expansion completed, X Games returns to the center stage in France with X Games Tignes, March 20--22. CANAL+ Events and ESPN will collaborate to host and televise the fourth iteration of the event at Tignes Ski and Snowboard resort in the French Alps. X Games Tignes will welcome 150 world--class athletes competing in Snowboard and Skiing events.
Among them, snowboarders Mark McMorris (CAN), IouriPodladtchikov (SWI), Louie Vito (USA), TorsteinHorgmo (NOR), Kelly Clark (USA), Jamie Anderson (USA), Elena Hight (USA) battle to remain atop the podium, while three rookies -- Arielle Gold (16 y--o, USA), Yuki Kadono (16 y--o, JAP) and Max Parrot (17 y--o, CAN) make their debut in Tignes after successful Aspen events. Also returning are 2010 Olympic champion Torah Bright (AUS) and superstar Shaun White (USA) defending his two X Games Tignes 2012 gold medals.
In ski, American David Wise, X Games Aspen Ski SuperPipe winner, France’s Kevin Rolland, Thomas Krief et AnaïsCaradeux and young TorinYater--Wallace (17 y--o, USA), Bobby Brown (USA), Tom Wallisch (USA), Nick Goepper (USA), James Woods (GBR), KayaTurski (CAN), Maddie Bowman (USA) all return to Tignes in hopes of winning gold.
Last year's event saw over 100,000 visitors flock to the foot of the supersize modules in Tignes, to cheer on some of the biggest names in skiing and snowboarding, including the one and only Shaun White.
The programme features a total of eight disciplines: Men and Women's Ski SuperPipe, Men and Women's Snowboard SuperPipe, Men and Women's Ski Slopestyle, Men and Women's Snowboard Slopestyle.
