In a disapointing finale, weather played a deciding factor, with the womens event being decided from the qualification results, and the mens competition being turned into a jib contest with only the top half of the course being useable.

The impending storm stayed away and allowed the halfpipe to take place in pretty good, if a little slushy conditions. Jamie Nicholls narrowly picked Dom Harrington to the gold medal. Kate Foster wons the womens event.

The first day of the British Snowboard Championships kicked off in style when the Trespass British Snowboardcross took place in perfect spring like conditions that saw a double family victory from newcomers Thomas and Charlotte Bankes, who both dominated all day with super fast runs that were peppered with Olympic influences.

Finnish riders dominate Mens Halfpipe Semis at BEO

At the Burton European Open in Laax, it was mens halfpipe qualification & semi final day. 20-years-old Finnish rider Ilkka-Eemeli Laari came 1st. Brit Ben Kilner narrowly missed out of the finals, finishing in 18th place.

At the Burton European Open in Laax, Switzerland Brit Jamie Nicholls made the slopestyle final 16, after his top 10 finish in the semis.

Surely the safest bet for any of the competitions in the Brits would be that Jenny Jones would win the slopestyle, and true to form she did. 15yr old Jamie Nicholls picked up the mens title with a super technical run.

Nate Kern lands a 1260 to win Big Air at the Brits

2nd day of the BRITS 09 for the Quiksilver Big Air Championships yesterday and the standard of riding was immense. Nate Kern set a new BRITS record with a backside 1260 and Laura Berry stepped it up with a huge 360 to take the 2009 British Quiksilver Big Air Championship titles. Check out the highlights here!

Perfectly sunny skies shone down again on the third day of the Burton European Open where men's and women's slopestyle qualifiers went down. Forty men, who came through from pre-qualification and 53 women had two runs to prove to the judges that they were worthy of competing against some of the world's best slopestyle riders in the semi-finals
