TTR Ranking Gives AIM Series Star Status

Fri 13 October 06
In a small Step for TTR, but a Huge Step for UK Snowboarding all riders that have competed in the 2006 AIM Series to date have been given World Ranking points

The AIM Series – the National Snowboard Championship Circuit - has become the first UK event to gain TTR World Snowboard Tour Ranking. All riders that have competed in the 2006 AIM Series to date have been given World Ranking points. Currently placed in 8th position Worldwide is the UK’s very own Shaun White, 13 year old Jamie Nicholls, who after competing at every AIM Event is placed directly beneath Norway’s super-kid, Mikkel Bang.
Due to demand from Nations such as Great Britain, the World Snowboard Federation (WSF) has taken control of 1(one), 2(two) & 3(three) Star Ranking events which feed into the TTR World Snowboard Tour. Integration within this Tour through partnership with the WSF provides AIM Series competitors the ability to measure their performances against the World’s best, and provision of an overall World Ranking Position. Spencer Claridge, Director of Soul Sports, organisers of the AIM Series explains – “It is difficult to emphasise adequately just how pivotal this progression could prove in raising the professional attitude and ambition of British athletes”.
Each AIM Series event has been given a Star Ranking, in recognition that the events serve to develop and promote the UK’s best amateur and professional freestyle snowboarders. The organiser’s attention is now firmly focused on the Rookie to Pro stepping-stone process that this partnership encourages and pushing UK snowboarding to the next level.
AIM Series & TTR Ranked Events:
Artificial AIM Series Events = 1 STAR
Indoor AIM Series Events = 2 STAR’S
The British Championships AKA “The Brits” = 3 STAR’S
