Saving his best till last, he front-flipped the stacked trashcan and took the top prize

ONeill Pro Freestyle 2007 street jibThe snow-covered streets of Avoriaz played host to the penultimate day of competition at the TTR 5(FIVE)STAR ONeill Pro Freestyle 2007 on Thursday, as two progressive City Sessions provided riders with the perfect excuse to get their jib on.

With a total of $5,000 up for grabs over the early afternoon and evening City Sessions, and with plenty of cheering spectators watching from the sidelines, riders wasted little time in throwing themselves down the jib lines in the hope of picking up some cash from the judges. A down box rail followed by a choice of up-rail, curved box rail or double-stacked trashcan jib kept things fresh from start to finish.

Stand-out riders over both Sessions included Norways Henning Marthinson and Fredrik Austbo dubbed Shredrik by MC Dave Mailman as well as Swiss Russian Iouri Podladtchikov and Finlands Peetu Piiroinen. So what kinds of tricks were being thrown down? Well, Norwegian Kim-Rune Hansen got the crowd pumped with a 270 on 450 off the up-rail, while crowd favorite Dimi de Jong was hucking 50-50 backflip-offs on the curved rail box. Stealing the show at the death of the 2nd Session, however, was the UKs Tyler Chorlton. With only a few minutes to go, Chorlton charged towards the stacked trashcan jib before front-flipping over the whole damn thing. His prize? The Best Trick award.

ONeill Pro Freestyle 2007 street jibAs for Fridays line-up, well its action packed to say the least. Semi-finals and finals for both the mens and womens Quarterpipe event are on the cards, so make sure you catch the LIVE WEBCAST from 3.30pm to see who walks away with the title.
