Scottish resorts looking good
Thu 08 February 07
With most of England & Wales getting a good covering of the white stuff, Scotland managed a few flakes to top up a reasonable base
Thanks to recent snowfalls, all five ski areas have sufficient snow for some skiing and boarding. Please note that at present the snow cover is limited in most areas some have conditions better suited to lower abilities and some to competent skiers - see details of conditions at all the resorts on www.ski-scotland.com
Cairngorm
Good skiing and boarding in the Ptarmigan and Ciste Bowl with a dusting of fresh powdery snow on a firm base. Some nice skiing. The traverse, upper cas and 105 good skiing and boarding, with a short walk from the top station to the traverse. Walking required down Zig-zags to middle station
Glencoe
Continuing snowfall is inproving the run conditions. We will reassess tomorrow (Friday) for the weekend. The upper runs remain mostly complete. We had a light dusting of snow overnight
Glenshee
Snow showers continue to improve the runs, some of which are close to being open. Claybokie has the best cover with fresh powder snow on a man made base
Lecht
Most runs are now complete with new snow on a firm base some of the longer runs are a liitle thin in places. Excellent cover on the nursery area
Nevis
The snowpack is hard with a thin layer of new snow. Nice skiing on the pisted areas, but icy patches elsewhere. Improving with light snow showers. The Skiing and snowboarding is on some of the Summit and Goose runs, loading at T4. Quad chair for access and downloading.
