With the NZ season just underway, here's the lowdown on all the changes to the major resorts

The 2007 season has just kicked off in New Zealand, so here's a run down of all the new stuff you can expect to see.

Mt Hutt

Developments at Mt Hutt this year include improved access trails, a new trail through The Wolds, an extension to the Halfpipe, a second winch groomer, and snowmaking in the terrain park.

Coronet Peak

New developments for the 2007 season at Coronet Peak include the installation of a new beginners’ area and carpet lift which effectively doubles the terrain and lifts available for beginners, a new snowmaking pump which has increased snowmaking capacity, and two new groomers designed to provide the best possible snow surface.

Treble Cone

The significant trail enhancement has continued this summer adding to the work completed in 2006 in the Home and Saddle Basins. This adds to the expansive beginner and intermediate groomed trails with even more super wide intermediate groomed trails for skiers and boarders.
Intermediates will benefit from the enhancements to Raffills Run, allowing a smoother transition from Upper High Street down to the recently improved Pete’s Treat, with possibly the most scenic views on the mountain. The Saddle Basin now offers a more spacious and comfortable groomed 2km ski or ride to the bottom of the Saddle Quad chairlift.

Snowmaking Facilities.Treble Cone continues to invest in snowmaking equipment each year. This allows for a total of 30 snow guns for 2007 ensuring our snow making capacity has a good coverage over the main trails on the Home Basin.

Cardrona

Snowmaking A two million dollar investment into a new snowmaking system that will cover the main basin, terrain parks and halfpipes. This new technology will supplement Cardrona’s already renowned natural snowbase, ensuring key trails, rails, jumps and half pipes are open at the start of the season.

Snowpark

New mini-park and on-site accomodation will be waiting for you.

Mt Ruapehu

New lifts and changes at both Whakapapa and Turoa
