is proud to announce the return of the SIX(6) STAR O’NEILL EVOLUTION to the 2007/2008 Swatch Ticket To Ride (TTR) World Snowboard Tour.
Following the resounding success of the inaugural edition of the O’Neill Evolution in 2007, the event is poised to return to Davos, Switzerland from 2-7 January 2008 as one of only six TTR Men’s freestyle snowboarding events boasting the maximum SIX(6) STAR rating.
With valuable ranking points at stake and an overall prize purse of US$ 100,000, the world’s best freestyle snowboarders will once again converge on the Jakobshorn to put on an awe-inspiring display of Superpipe and Quarterpipe jam-format madness. So which riders stand a strong chance of claiming the US$ 15,000 first place checks?
Well, automatically invited riders include the Top 10 from the 2006/07 Swatch TTR Men’s Ranking List. That includes Shaun White and Finnish spin machine and reigning Evolution Superpipe Champion Antti Autti. Others automatically invited to compete include the likes of Travis Rice, Kevin Pearce, Danny Davis and Scotty Lago – all standout riders from the first edition. The remaining Top 10 riders will also represent a real threat in the form of fellow US rider Mason Aguirre and Swiss-Russian Iouri Podladtchikov. Meanwhile, Scanners Antti Autti, Janne Korpi and Henning Marthinsen have already confirmed their presence in Davos, and we’ll be announcing more confirmed riders from the top 10 very soon.

Organizers are delighted to announce the wild card participation of reigning Quarterpipe Champion Nicolas Mueller. Never one to miss an opportunity to put on a show for thousands of spectators, Mueller will be also fighting to retain his crown against another three wild card riders as well as the two riders ranked in the Top 2 of the Swatch TTR Men’s Ranking List come mid-December.
120 qualification spots, meanwhile, will see many of snowboarding’s young pretenders vying for their chance to ride alongside and beat the world’s best. Following the incredible feats of amplitude put on by the likes of snowboarding legend Terje Haakonsen during the first O’Neill Evolution, Highest Air Sessions will once again be integrated into the event, with the winner of the Quarterpipe and Superpipe Highest Air Sessions walking away with US$ 6,000 and US$ 3,0000 respectively.
With a stellar line-up of riders, tons of ranking points and truckloads of prizemoney on offer, the O’Neill Evolution 2008 will be an event not to be missed. If you can’t make it to Davos, make sure you catch all the action live on TV and internet: www.oneilltv.com.
