Sunshine Village 100% open

Tue 11 December 07

12 lifts, 81 runs, 3 mountains, 125cm snow base, 72cm snow last week

Sunshine Village is now operating at full lift capacity. With all 12 lifts operating, including 8 super lifts, Sunshine’s lift capacity is now over 20,000 skiers and boarders per hour.

With great early season conditions including a base of 125 cm, Sunshine Village is proud to provide the best terrain and conditions available in the Canadian Rockies. Skiers and boarders now have access to all three mountain faces with over 81 runs available. “The skiing and riding has been great so far this year and it’s only getting better,” said Mike Moynihan, Manager Sales & Media. “Last week we received over 72 cm of Canada’s Best Snow providing powder hounds with amazing fresh tracks during Goat’s Eye’s opening.”

Sunshine Village is proud to support the “21st Annual Lions Festival of Lights,” running from December 1st to January 8th, 2008 in Calgary’s Confederation Park. The Festival of Lights is Western Canada’s largest FREE drive-by Christmas light show utilizing 80,000 bulbs and over 800 volunteer hours to create. “Sunshine relies heavily on the Calgary market,” said John Scurfield, Vice President Marketing, “and we felt this would be an appropriate way of thanking Calgarians for their support.” A long time sponsor of the event, the combined total support from Sunshine for this project is now in excess of $282,000.
