Band line-up at the Winter Dew in Breckenridge

The Winter Dew Tour today announced that local bands MTHDS, Savoy and DJ Chonz will perform at the Verizon Wireless music stage inside the Riverwalk Amphitheatre on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 20-21, at the first stop of the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge, Colorado

The Winter Dew Tour today announced that local bands MTHDS, Savoy and DJ Chonz will perform at the Verizon Wireless music stage inside the Riverwalk Amphitheatre on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 20-21, at the first stop of the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge, Colorado.

The local groups add to an already stellar list of artists that includes multi-platinum rock band The All-American Rejects and Boulder-based hip hop duo 3OH!3.

Savoy and MTHDS will perform on Saturday from 4 – 6 p.m., while DJ Chonz will take the stage before People Under the Stairs on Sunday from 1 – 3 p.m.

A mix of rock and electronic, the Boulder-based Savoy is known for high-energy live sets and multi-media oriented shows. Hailing from Vail, MTHDS, whose name derives from the method snowboarding trick, plays a mix of shred-driven funk, melodic hip-hop and rhythmic reggae.

DJ Chonz, of Denver, has been on the Denver music scene since the early ‘90s and is one of the most recognizable hip-hop DJs in Colorado. The underground hip-hop duo People Under the Stairs hail from Los Angeles and their performances boast of humor and audience interaction. Comprised of artists The One and Double K, this group has released four albums since their inception in 1997.

Sunday, Dec. 21
1 p.m. – DJ Chonz
2 p.m – People Under the Stairs

Similar to the Dew Tour’s summer competition structure, the Winter Dew Tour is based on a cumulative points system as the top snow athletes battle it out for a piece of the $1.5 million prize purse and the chance to take home the Dew Cup at the conclusion of the season in February.
