The Vans Dawn of the Shred, in association with Relentless, returns for the third year and this time it’s bigger than ever. Bringing the North/South divide closer with an indoor stop at Xscape Milton Keynes on the 30th May and the only open UK comp on real snow at Cairngorm Mountain, Scotland on the 18th April.
The Vans Terrain Park is taking form with the local team in Aviemore shaping kickers, rails and boxes to top last years set up and the famous Nessie rail is back. If the monster kicker that was built on that very mountain last season is anything to go by, this year the park is sure to be one hell of a ride.
For all you indoor junkies out there Vans presents a fridge shred, pulling a late nighter in Milton Keynes with a mix of snow, skate and music to rock ya thermal socks off.
The slope is open from 8pm-12am and you can be sure there will be some surprises as each sponsor has been set the challenge to come up with an obstacle to include in the comp. Afterwards head to the bar, open till late, for mix of high octane retro rock, watch this space for bands to be announced soon.
To top this all off the Vans UK skate team will be in attendance hitting up the mini ramp set up directly on the slope!
Both dates of the event are open to the public, so the host of prizes on offer are anyone’s to take. An immense donation has been supplied by our sponsored chalet in Morzine, Ride and Slide, of an all expenses paid stay at their 5 star haven. Visit www.rideslide.co.uk to check it out.
A £1000 purse prize is up for grabs at each event and spot prizes will also go to best trick and best outfit, so get creative!
