The silly season begins. A dozen teams came out to compete in Aspen and rode human-powered crafts down Fanny Hill hopefully across the pond. My favourite, the Dumb and Dumber themed team, I Got Worms.

The second annual Red Bull Schnee Tag was held in Aspen Snowmass this Saturday, March 28, 2009. A dozen teams came out to compete as they rode human-powered crafts down Fanny Hill into, and sometimes across, a huge pond.

The teams were judged on a pre-run skit as well as costume theme, creativity, splash and the flight distance of their craft.

The Outlaws, Jenny Marshall, Chris Marshall, Catherine Kuchar and Meredith McKee, took first. Red Bull awarded them a VIP trip a NASCAR race.

The second place team, The Marching Band, won paragliding flights with the Red Bull Airforce.

Coming in third and taking home Salomon skis and snowboards was the Dumb and Dumber themed team, I Got Worms, featuring David Kline, Kiffor Berg, Anders Gustafson and Buck Erickson.

The event required each craft to be entirely human powered with no external energy sources. The craft had to have skis and/or snowboards attached to the bottom and weigh less than 400 pounds, including the pilot. Each team selected one member to fly their craft across the 75x20 foot pond
