Top Riders Confirmed for Burton European Open 11

Top riders are nailing down plans to gather in LAAX for the 12th annual Burton European Open (BEO), the second event of this season’s Burton Global Open Series (BGOS) and a 6 Star TTR event

Top riders are nailing down plans to gather in LAAX for the 12th annual Burton European Open (BEO), the second event of this season’s Burton Global Open Series (BGOS) and a 6 Star TTR event. Thanks to its progressive riding, exceptional prize purse, fun atmosphere and late-night entertainment, the BEO is a favorite event of pro and amateur riders alike, drawing impressive names from around the snowboard world.
 
Top riders have confirmed their attendance, including 2010 BEO winner Peetu Piiroinen (FIN), who won both the BGOS and TTR Championship titles last season. Two-time Olympian and 2010 US Open Halfpipe Champion Kazu Kokubo (JPN) plans to compete at the BEO, as well as 2009 Air & Style winner Marko Grilc (SLO). Stale Sandbech (NOR), Christian Haller (SUI), 2009 World Rookie Champion Roope Tonteri (FIN), 2010 freestyle.ch winner Gjermund Braaten (NOR) and Air & Style Rookie Winner Seppe Smits (BEL) all have confirmed their attendance.

On the women’s side, current BGOS and TTR Tour Champion and BEO 2010 Slopestyle Winner Enni Rukajärvi (FIN) is preparing for LAAX. Kelly Clark (USA), whose short list of competition accolades includes Olympic gold and bronze medals, three European Open titles and a record-breaking four US Open halfpipe titles, also plans to compete at the BEO. Olympic gold and silver medalist Hannah Teter (USA) just confirmed her attendance. And LAAX local Sina Candrian (SUI) as well as Norwegians Kjersti Buaas and Lisa Wiik are also among the top confirmed riders.
