A new storm has hit California this week with all resorts reporting huge dumps

Squaw Valley USA received a foot of new snow overnight Tuesday night with another foot throughout the morning on Wednesday. The storm series is expected to continue into Friday and with predicted snowfall totals of over 4 to 5 feet,

The intense snowfall is the result of a powerful and cold low-pressure system moving out of the Gulf of Alaska and across the Sierra. A second round of storm fronts are already lining up in the gulf promising a spectacular finish to the month of February for powder lovers.

The most recent snowfall brings Squaw Valley's cumulative totals to 321 inches or over 26 feet for the 2010-11 winter season. The resort has witnessed record-breaking early-season snowfall and weather experts are predicting even more snow in the weeks to come.
