Sun 20 November 11
Temperatures dipped yesterday, and we wasted no time lighting a fire under our snow guns. Weather permitting, we'll open for the winter season on Thursday, November 24.
I can't think of a better way to spend Thanksgiving than making those first sweet turns of the season!
SNOWMAKING & BRIDGE UPDATE:
With the largest installation of highly-efficient HKD tower snow guns in North America (600 tower snow guns added in the past 2 years), we can blanket our slopes very quickly!

We cranked up the guns and blasted snow on Sunset, Upper Walking Boss, Lower Walking Boss, Haulback, Bear Claw Extension, Upper Picked Rock, Upper Bear Claw, Grand Junction, Seven Brothers and Link. We expect to be able to continue making snow through today and tonight.
The vehicle bridge at the main entrance to Loon is slated to open next week as well - stay tuned to our website, Facebook, and Twitter for snowmaking & bridge updates and opening day terrain details!
UPCOMING EVENTS:
Cease & Desist - Nov. 25 & 26: This event celebrates skiers and riders with a passion for New England snow. Skiers compete on November 25; snowboarders go head-to-head on November 26. Registration is $15.
LOON MOUNTAIN SPORTS & NEW LOON SHRED SHED:
Loon Mountain Sports retail shop is chock-full of the latest ski equipment and apparel. And be sure to check out Loon's new Shred Shed - our slopeside snowboard and freeski shop! Located in the Octagon base area (in the old Whistlestop Cafe location), it's your one-stop shop for the latest snowboard and freeski equipment and apparel. Don't forget to use your New England Pass* and BoyneRewards card for savings (*depending on pass type) and points on your purchases!
Speaking of passes, no sense spending time in line on opening day to get your pass when there are runs to be made! Get your season pass now, so you can head straight to the slopes on opening day. Stop by the season pass office Monday-Friday from 9:00AM - 3:30PM, or Saturday and Sunday from 10:00AM - 2:00PM, so you'll have pass in-hand when the lifts start turning!
And just a quick reminder to get your College New England Pass for only $349 - but only through November 30!
That's the latest from Loon. Stay tuned for opening day updates, and we can't wait to see you on the hill!
