Mount Baw Baw Opens for the 2012 season!

Last weekend saw Mt Baw Baw open for the 2012 season with plenty of snow, smiles and free snowboarding!

Treasurer Kim Wells opened the season by ringing the bell and declared winter 2012 underway witha cocktail party on Saturday evening at the Village Restaurant. Local music identity Andrew Wishart entertained guests as they enjoyed local food and wine. Plenty of people took to the slopes on Tank Hill, and Husky Dog Sled Tours, tobogganing were also popular.
Since the weekend the snow guns have been operating giving Tank Hill a few extra centimeters of snow thanks to low temperatures enabling perfect snow making conditions.
Planned events for the season include Saturday 21st of July Tight & Bright Retro Day! So gets those spandex and one pieces out, and also the GNU ‘Wierdfest’ Saturday 11th August, 10am - 4pm. Teaming up with the Legendary ‘Mervin Manufacturing’ to bring you ‘The GNU WierdFest’ is the final stop on the Tour.

The ski area opened as scheduled this morning thanks to cold temperatures which enabled consistent snowmaking throughout the week and topped up by some natural snow falls.

Echo mountain, just outide of Denver in Colorado, is currently up for sale. It's only 226 acres but only a third of it has currently been developed, and they build a great park every season. It's up for auction and sealed bids need to be received by August 2, so best get moving!
