Mt. Baldy up for sale
The small Canadian resort on the US border, had a mare of a first half of the season, and unfortunately was not able to recover and has gone into receivership. It's hopeful that a buyer will be sought before the start of the new season. We've no idea of the price, but they had some major plans for the place
With a high elevation, 750 acres but an approved master plan to extend this to over 4000 acres, Mt.Baldy seemingly had a bright future.
A message on their website from the mountain manager, Matt Koenig, says
"... if there ever was a year not to open, last year was it. With the lack of snowfall early season we would have missed the entire Christmas holidays, having not been able to open on a limited basis until January 16th, full operation would not have been until second week of February"
"I am hopeful that with G-Force Group's background a qualified buyer can be identified and sale of the ski area will be completed in a timely manner. In the meantime plans are being drawn up for different scenarios including having to prepare for a ski season this year with short lead times"
