Falls Creek opens for the season!
The 2014 season got underway at Falls Creek yesterday and with more lifts set to open today and snow predicted things are looking promising for the coming season.
Lifts were turning and faces beaming for the first day of skiing and snowboarding at Falls Creek yesterday. Kids were making their first turns on Tom Thumb, locals were out in force lapping up the fresh snow on Hwy 83, the Falls Creek Glacier on Main St has settled in for the season and the Hoot was true to label. We'll have even more of the same today as we add Drovers Dream and some beginner fun boxes into the mix, and we take another step up in class again tomorrow with the opening of the Sun Valley chairlifts: Scott and Ruined Castle.
Snow fell throughout the day yesterday before turning a bit wetter overnight. But it won't do all this early snow any harm to absorb a bit of moisture and freeze into a great base before the second coming of Snowzilla, as this storm has been christened elsewhere, on Saturday.
We're going to be stomped on all over again.
We really are looking at the best school holiday skiing in years. Don't miss out!
