The third stop of Freeride World Tour is Coming!
On Sunday, March 6, at 9AM CET, the world’s best freeriders descend on the legendary Austrian resort as the pressure builds for the final qualifying event before the penultimate stop in Haines, Alaska.
After two successful events in Vallnord-Arcalís, Andorra, and Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France, 58 riders are preparing for the crucial last event that will allow them to gain enough points to move on to the final two legendary stops of the 2016 Swatch Freeride World Tour at Haines, Alaska, and the season finale in Verbier, Switzerland.
To determine which thirty-three riders will advance to Haines, Alaska, and will qualify for the 2017 FWT season, the two top results are taken from the first three events (Vallnord-Arcalís, Chamonix, and Fieberbrunn). After Haines, the three best results from all four events will determine which twenty-eight riders make the second cut before the finals in Verbier. The world champions in each of the four categories will be crowned in Verbier based on their best four results out of all the five stops this season.
Champions have fallen and rankings have been shaken up as the world’s best freeriders in both ski and snowboard categories have either emerged victorious or been vanquished over the last two months of fierce and impressive competition.
On Sunday, March 6, at 9AM CET, the third stop of the 2016 Swatch Freeride World tour is once again returning to the Tyrolean resort featuring an impressive competition venue on the Wildseeloder face culminating at 2118m in the Austrian Alps.
