Hemesedal introduces new slope and more for 201415
The preparations for the winter season are well underway in Hemsedal, with a planned opening day of Friday 31st of October you could be on the slopes as early as Halloween.
The early autumn period will see the resort busily preparing lift systems and machinery as well as the introduction of a new piste that will run down to the Hemsedal village. The new ski slope from Hemsedal Skisenter will be ready as soon as the snow settles for the 2014/15 season. The slope, starts at the Fjellheisen lift, and will no less than 4 km long and has a blue difficulty level. The slope has been designed so that it follows the natural terrain as far as possible and passes through the Djeveldalen area among others. At the steeper sections the slope has been developed to include green difficulty side routes so that all skiers can use the slope to get to the village.
As well as the new slope riders will be able to Night Ski on Friday’s at Hemsedal between the hours of 18.00-22.00. Through the week Hemsedal is also introducing extended hours with Nonstop Skiing during where snowboarders can ride from 09.00 to 19.00 several days a week. Late Night begins on 28 November and there are extended Nonstop Skiing hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 23 December to 26 March.
