Best snow in a decade at Mt Buller
Mt Buller is currently experiencing its best snow season in a decade, with 129cms of snow falling in just three weeks.
Consistent and heavy snowfalls since the end of June have left the mountain with a base of 97cm and all 22 lifts operating.
This has been the best start to July for Mt Buller since 2004, and will be the first opportunity many skiers and boarders will have had in a number of years to ski their favourite off-piste terrain.
With the largest lifting system in Victoria fully operational and 100% of our extensive terrain open, skiers and boarders of all abilities can enjoy wide open groomers to the steeps and deeps of The Chutes.
Buller Ski Lifts General Manager Laurie Blampied says Mt Buller is in a fantastic position to maintain excellent conditions for the remainder of the season.
“What’s really exciting is that we have received these heavy snow falls early in the season. This means that there is plenty of time for people to enjoy the best of Buller in 2014. While we’ve always had a reliable snow making system, this is a fantastic opportunity to ski some of Mt Buller’s legendary black terrain” he said.
