New NZSki staff ready and raring to go!
Hundreds of new NZSki employees took over Queenstown’s Coronet Peak yesterday (Tuesday June 3) for the 2014 staff induction with days to go to the ski area’s opening on Saturday.
Excited staff braved the chilly misty morning to meet fellow team members and familiarize themselves with the ski area and enjoy the snow on the slopes.
Staff induction included team bonding, health and safety and general training, and a second intake of staff will come on board before The Remarkables opens on June 21.
Over 1,000 new employees will join the premier ski operator for 2014 across all three ski areas, hailing from 35 different countries including New Zealand, Japan, Brazil, Canada and Switzerland.
They join a dedicated year-round management team responsible for all off-season developments and activity. NZSki is Queenstown’s biggest winter employer, hiring quality staff for roles varying from lift operators, snow groomers, and instructors to sous chefs, front line staff and coach drivers.
Coronet Peak is on schedule to open this Saturday (June 7) thanks to great May snowfall and cold temperatures enabling extensive snowmaking.
