HEAR BABYSHAMBLES PERFORM THEIR NEW ALBUM ON THE SLOPES: “SEQUEL TO THE PREQUEL”

BABYSHAMBLES play Rock the Pistes armed with their latest album Sequel to the Prequel (released 9 September 2013 by PARLOPHONE RECORDS). This new collection of songs gives the band fresh appeal after five years away, and it’s had positive reviews from critics who’ve championed the album’s structured sound. The ballads are more accomplished than before, with their britpop, punk and jazz influences coming through. In short, it’s perfect music to complement the festival’s pop-rock spirit!

The album’s a fine showcase for the massive musical talent behind BABYSHAMBLES, playing for the first time in the Portes du Soleil’s mountains. But it’s also hugely important on a personal level for lead singer Pete Doherty: “I've realised there's a hunger there for me – not for not having enough to eat, let's make that clear – but to be in this band. It's intrinsically a part of me, I think. And it's taken this album to really remind myself of that."

FOR ITS 4th YEAR, THE FESTIVAL HAS A BRITISH TOUCH!

Signing BABYSHAMBLES marks a clear change of direction for Rock the Pistes as the festival celebrates great UK sound. We’re sure it’ll be well received by our international visitors, not to mention our many British holidaymakers. The festival also promises a world exclusive: celebrating 35 years of UK label ARIWA RECORDS, with reggae legends set to perform including MAD PROFESSOR, LEE SCRATCH PERRY and even HORACE ANDY.

On the other side of the music spectrum we’re proud to present BABYSHAMBLES, who’ll highlight the best of British rock. And we’re sure that our other acts playing in resort* won’t disappoint either... we’ve booked up-and-coming London group THE SKINTS, who’re already making a name for themselves in the UK.
