After an epic season work has begun on a new tunnel giving access to Mineral Basin and the old Peruvian lift is being replaced with a new 4-seater chair

Snowbird recently began a two-year project constructing a new chairlift and tunnel in Peruvian Gulch. Ready for the new season, Snowbird’s original Peruvian lift will be taken out and replaced with a new high-speed quad.
The base will stay near the original base shack, but the top station will be located below the steepest Chip’s Run pitch, an approximately 2,600-vertical-foot rise. At the top of the lift, a 595-foot tunnel with a conveyor lift will provide access to Mineral Basin.
