After two successive sell out festivals,Snowboxx finds a new home in the French Alps. With bigger artists, more pistes and more parties.
In March 2014 Snowboxx made a huge step forward in it’s festival offering, bringingnames such as Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Toddla T, The 2 Bears, Monki and wAFF out to the mountains for an unforgettable set of shows.
2015 sees the festival take an even bigger leap into the enviable resort of Alpe D’Huez. Snowboxx seeks to define itself as the Ultimate Winter Festival by staging bigger events, a bigger lineup and a much bigger festival experience and with an entry price of £229 for accommodation, lift pass and festival ticket, it is of unrivaled value.
Alpe D’Huez is hailed as one of the best resorts in the French Alpes, and with 249km of pistes, incredible year round snow, unbelievable off piste and one of the most modern lift systems in the world. For Snowboxx customers that are looking to Ski hard and play hard, this is the perfect resort, and for those that are looking to really clock up miles on the snow, the Snowboxx lift pass offer a days riding over in the neighbouring resort of Les Deux Alpes, easily accessible by bus, or for the more glamorous, a 10 minute helicopter ride (around €75 return!).
Not content with just moving resort, Snowboxx is redefining the concept of the festival offering the customer a ‘festival village’ experience. The town will be split up into 4 areas: The Town Centre, the High St, Downtown and the Mountain all of which are within 10 minutes walk/ski lift from each other, and and 15 minutes from any Snowboxx accommodation.
The Town Centre will host the biggest artists in a completely unique setting the main stage Taburle terrace spills out onto the snow, against the backdrop of the snowy slopes. The Taburle will play host to 3 headline events, one of which will showcase an acrobatic skiing display from the legendary ESF instructors, and the other headlined by international artists (first lineup announcement coming at the end of September). During the week the terrace will have daily aprés sessions that will be hosted by the 80s party starters, Retro Rentals. If you are looking for a break from the music and dancing, then you can head to the festivals very own food market, with Fondue, raclette, crepes and Vin Chaud all on offer all through the day and night.
Luxury and pampering go hand in hand with the Alps experience, and The High St has everything you need to indulge yourself after a long day on the slopes. Here you’ll find oriental spas, open air swimming pools, an ice rink and some of the best cocktail bars in town! Downtown is for the late night music lovers, with five venues hosting different club nights every night, Snowboxx customers are guaranteed to find a style they will enjoy.
The Mountain will be hosting a plethora of exciting slopeside events including a retro olympics in the snow park, an on the mountain art project and a fancy dress world record attempt! Combine with this the world famous Folie Douce, a new addition for Alpe D’Huez in the past couple of seasons. An Ibiza style terrace, with high octane dancers, musicians, visuals, fireworks and lots of champagne! It’s location 2100 meters in the middle of the mountains, overlooking the entire D’Huez town is a spectacle not to be missed.
