Stubai Glacier freeride season is in full swing!
With untracked powder faces and long backcountry runs the popular freeride eldorado at the gates of Innsbruck attracts backcountry fans from far and wide.
Austria´s biggest Glacier Ski Resort, also known as the Kingdom of Snow, provides everything a freerider´s heart could wish for. The range starts from a perfect infrastructure and goes to a vast versatility and diversity of variants in the backcountry and up to large test and rental centers offering the latest freeride equipment in the shops right in the resort at Eisgrat and Gamsgarten. With free demo testing opportunities, freebie avalanche safety trainings in the ORTOVOX training park and guided backcountry tours by certified mountain guides, the Powder Department Freeride Camp has already become a set date in the calendar of the Tyrolean freeride scene.
On February 20th to 22nd 2015, Stubai Glacier will be presenting the Powder Department Freeride Camp 2015. Passionate freeriders and backcountry fans should not miss out on the great program this action-loaded weekend has to offer.

Tired visitors can grab a fresh drink and relax with DJ sounds at the Chill Area powered by Pepsi. All interested freeriders will get the opportunity to meet ORTOVOX athlete and pro rider Michi Durstberger in person at the ORTOVOX booth.
Free avalanche safety trainings at the ORTOVOX training park at Gamsgarten
Even if, or maybe because a great backcountry terrain becomes easily accessible with the Powder Department, the awareness of alpine dangers in high altitude should constantly be trained. During the Powder Department Freeride Camp, mountain guides from the Alpine Ski School Neustift will be available every day at 2.00 and 3.00 p.m. in the ORTOVOX training park at Gamsgarten. Within a one-hour training session, they will introduce the appropriate safety equipment and instruct the essential safety arrangements before, during and after a backcountry trip. Under the professional guidance of the mountain guides, camp participants can practise for an emergency with their own or borrowed demo avalanche transceivers.
