Switzerland Gets it Deep

The Snow Just Will Not Stop
After two weeks in the Jungfrau Region, with only scratches and bent rails to show for hours of boarding, the WSG team finally got some deep stuff. Last Saturday saw the long awaited snow start to fall, and it's just not stoped. The WSG team awoke on Tuesday morning in Verbier to sunshine, and after battling through the crowds, got some really long powder runs, see pic. By the afteroon it had closed in again and by evening the snow was back. Wednesday morning it was raining in resort with snow higher up and it is forecast to snow until Sunday. The whole of the southern Swiss resorts are getting it with the north not so lucky. But be carefull, the high temperatures of Jan and early Feb have left a sheet of ice under all the fresh snow making avalanches a real risk. Two Brits died in Verbier last weekend. So get a flight out to the Alps this weekend as next week promises to be the best of the season, but please please take care.
