The season has started slowly in New Zealand and the recent weather patterns have meant that little natural snow has fallen. Above average temperatures have also meant the possibility of snow making seems remote.
Tue 24 June 14, Las Lenas, Argentina
Whilst other countries maybe struggling for the white stuff many resorts in Argentina and Chile fared a lot better for their opening weekend. There is already a healthy snow base in many of the resorts thanks to some early season snow dumps.
Wed 25 June 14, Perisher, Australia
This storm has delivered a wonderful 120cm of fresh snow over 2 days.
Thu 26 June 14, Falls Creek, Australia
The 2014 season got underway at Falls Creek yesterday and with more lifts set to open today and snow predicted things are looking promising for the coming season.
“Major riding for all styles and all levels, especially backcountry and amazing park and pipes. But take note: lift queues can be very long, especially at Easter and Christmas. Avoid major holidays if an option and Sundays are quieter than Saturdays, especially on Blackcomb. Great summer riding on Blackcomb Glacier.”
