February and March were incredible months for skiers and riders at Whistler Blackcomb, with a snowfall total of 508cm. March was the snowiest month of the season and Whistler’s third snowiest March in 10 years. The last week alone brought a storm cycle that deposited 91cm of new snow. Year to date snowfall is 817cm (322 inches or close to 27 feet). As a result of March’s amazing snow and fantastic conditions on the mountains, Whistler Blackcomb is extending spring skiing and riding on Blackcomb Mountain until May 26, 2014.

“With a current base of 278cm and more snow in the forecast, we’re once again lucky enough to boast one of the longest ski seasons in North America,” says Stuart Rempel, Senior VP of Marketing and Sales at Whistler Blackcomb. “Spring is just an awesome time to be in Whistler. We have so many exciting events around the corner, such as the legendary World Ski and Snowboard Festival and the first annual GO Fest, Whistler’s Great Outdoors Festival. Extending our ski and snowboard season ensures all of our guests can have the best possible spring experience here at Whistler Blackcomb.”

Whistler Mountain operations will close on April 21 but Blackcomb Mountain’s expansive slopes and dialed in terrain parks will be open for skiing and riding until May 26, 2014

From April 23 to May 26, Whistler Blackcomb Season Pass and EDGE Cardholders will also be able to get in on amazing deals. Passholders and Cardholders will have the option to bring a friend spring skiing or riding for $49 per day.  In addition, Whistler Blackcomb Season Passholders can also enjoy mountain top lunch in the sunshine with 50 per cent off food and beverage (excluding alcohol) at the Rendezvous Lodge Monday through Friday until May 26.

Whistler Blackcomb window ticket rates have now dropped to $66 per day and EDGE Card direct-to-lift rates have dropped to $49 per day for the remainder of the ski season.

Guests can still take advantage of the guaranteed lowest price offer on their 2014.15 unlimited Season Pass by making a down payment of just $199 (plus tax) by May 2 to save up to $270 on the regular fall price.

Three, five, and ten day EDGE Cards for next season are also being offered at the lowest rates of $255, $375, or $659 respectively, until May 2. These EDGE Card rates allow guests to ski and ride from as low as $66 per day next season.  As an added bonus, guests who purchase next year’s five or ten day EDGE Card by this date will receive free unlimited early season skiing and riding from opening day* until December 15, 2014.

*Weather and conditions permitting, the expected opening day for winter 2014-15 is November 27, 2014, and the EDGE Card will be available for use in the case of an early opening.

Snowboard Guide rating 10 out of 10 “Major riding for all styles and all levels, especially backcountry and amazing park and pipes. But take note: lift queues can be very long, especially at Easter and Christmas. Avoid major holidays if an option and Sundays are quieter than Saturdays, especially on Blackcomb. Great summer riding on Blackcomb Glacier.”
