Chill Factore Searches For Winter Olympic Stars!
This Sunday, 7 June, sees Snowsport England search for the next Winter Olympic ski and snowboarding star in a Park & Pipe Talent ID day at Chill Factore.
The day is designed for competent skiers or snowboarders who can come and show off their freestyle ski and snowboard skills in front of Snowsport England coaches. Staff will be on hand to offer advice on the next steps athletes can take to have a chance to be selected to national programmes.
To book onto the Snowsport England Talent ID day, registration details are here with a full day riding costing £35 under the watchful eye of experienced coaches.
The day before, on Saturday 6 June, it is the 2015 English Indoor Slopestyle Championships also at Chill Factore, where many of the country’s rising freestyle ski and snowboard stars will descend on the Manchester indoor snow centre.
The Championships which is also organised by national governing body Snowsport England, is open to both skiers and snowboarders, with age categories ranging from U12 up to U20 and an ‘Open’ competition for older riders.
The contest, which will see the athletes hit kickers and rails in the expertly shaped snow park at Chill Factore, is open to a range of abilities, with the minimum requirement of being able to clear jumps and ride rails. As well as skiers and snowboarders new to competitions, the line-up is expected to include several of Snowsport England’s Freestyle Ski and Snowboard athletes, all looking to impress the judges.
Entry for the English Indoor Slopestyle Championships is now open online and costs £35 with a £10 bib deposit. For riders who are not registered with a Home Nation (Snowsport England/Snowsport Scotland/Snowsport Wales) or a member of an affiliated club can pay an extra £5 on the day to compete.
