Fernie Alpine Resort deservedly has a reputation for being a powder paradise. With an average annual snowfall of 875cm and enough steep gladed terrain to keep you entertained for the longest of stays, it is not surprising that it has become so popular, especially with the Antipodean snowboarding contingent. Since the take over by Resorts of the Canadian Rockies the ski area has doubled in size. Last year saw the new Polar Peak lift installed and the resort now openes its the doors to 5 bowls including, Timber, Currie and Siberia that offer some of the mountains most challenging terrain. Beginners, intermediate and advanced riders will feel equally at home on the slopes and if for some reason you decide to leave your board at home for the day, there are a number of activities from dog sledding to snowmobiling that will entertain you.
