We think these are the top 10 places overall to visit in Asia.

  1. Niseko United, Japan

    Awesome freeriding, stacks of fresh powder, fantastic night riding, lots of runs, decent lift system, Good parks & pipes. Quite a combination!
    Freeriding: 85% - Good backcountry and lots of pow
    Freestyle: 80% - Selection of terrain parks
    Pistes: 75% - Lots of options
  2. Mt.Tomamu, Japan

    Something for almost every type of rider
    Freeriding: 80% - Many options including Cat and Heli
    Freestyle: 70% - A well-maintained park and pipe
    Pistes: 60% - Some nice cruisers
  3. Happo One, Japan

    Hakuba's most dramatic destination; bigger, steeper and more varied then your average Japanese resort. No park at present but management are currently discussing future plans to build one, watch this space.
    Freeriding: 80% - Pillows and Pow!
    Freestyle: 40% - Just natural baby
    Pistes: 75% - Good but confusing layout
  4. Ishiuchi Maruyama, Japan

    Excellent parks & halfpipes makes this one of the best resorts in Japan for freestylers. Good number of long runs will please those who like to stick to the pistes
    Freeriding: 40% - Very little on offer
    Freestyle: 80% - 4 Parks & 2 good halfpipes
    Pistes: 75% - Long & good variety
  5. Hakuba 47 , Japan

    The park & pipe almost make up for the resorts attitude towards going off-piste. Sticking to the pistes and you'll have a good time with plenty of well groomed and long slopes.
    Freeriding: 45% - A few ungroomed slopes
    Freestyle: 75% - Good park & better pipe
    Pistes: 70% - Nice long runs
  6. Furano Ski Resort, Japan

    Great snow, but off-piste is not really allowed!
    Freeriding: 70% - Great trees if you duck the ropes
    Freestyle: 50% - Good pipe but a crappy park
    Pistes: 70% - Nicely groomed selection of runs
  7. Sapporo Kokusai , Japan

    Popular with with the local Sapporo snowboarders
    Freeriding: 60% - Regular powder days
    Freestyle: 65% - A good park
    Pistes: 55% - Some okay options
  8. Kiroro Snow World, Japan

    Huge amounts of snow
    Freeriding: 60% - Some good trees
    Freestyle: 50% - A basic park
    Pistes: 70% - A nice selection of runs
  9. Katsuyama Ski Jam, Japan

    If you're in Osaka or Kyoto, then this place is worth the day trip, but if you're coming from further afield, there's bigger and better places to go.
    Freeriding: 65% - Some off piste trees for powder hunters
    Freestyle: 65% - Some big hits + world's longest rail
    Pistes: 70% - Smallish, but some wide cruising runs
  10. Kamui Ski Links, Japan

    Fun for a few days
    Freeriding: 60% - Some good tree riding
    Freestyle: 60% - A small park, but good natural hits
    Pistes: 65% - Fun, steep groomers
