Ellmau may be a quaint Austrian village, but it is also a bit of a mishmash of a place. There’s plenty of good Austrian hospitality, on or close to the slopes with many affordable pensions and plenty of package deals on offer. Getting around can be a real pain in the arse as local transport services are poor with nowhere near enough ski buses running. The Memory bar goes off between 5 and 8 but is not so hot at night, it also has internet.Eating
The Alte Post is good for a traditional meal, or there’s an ok tex-mex if you don’t like cabbage. There is also Villagio 7 at the bottom of the hill in Ellmau that has a cosy bar and does good cheap pizza and pasta. Scheffau is a very quiet place with a couple of pizzerias and some sleepy bars.
Nightlife
Night life is super dull, unless you’re in to après ski games. The Mexican Bar / Restaurant is the only real place for late night partying.
Accomodation
Accommodation is affordable and there are lots of hotel restaurants to get a meal in.
