Resort life

Hintertux has a lot going for it on the slopes, but off the mountain the place is totally crap, with little or no real local services. It’s not that cheap either, with only a few restaurants and decent drinking holes. If its après-ski you’re after though, you must check out the bar at the bottom of the gondola called Hohenhaus Tenne. Its full on, but has got the most bonkers toilets you’ve ever seen. The best thing is to stay down the valley at Mayrhofen, which is about a forty minute bus ride away. Mayrhofen is a cool place with loads of places to stay, lots of restaurants and heaps of other things going on. Mayrhofen has a very good and lively night life.
