Good if you don't like crowds

Sun 24 September 2006 Geno
I spend a week in the Zugspitze area every January.  I'm a freerider so I'll review as such. This little area is great fun for a day if there's 3 inches of pow or 12 inches. It's not huge but you won't stand in line very long. When you get off the lift at the top take a quick right and drop into a bowl that's full of mounds created by treetops (i think). It's sick fun since these little hills are about the size of a VW and they're everywhere. You can get some fun air but be ready to cut hard when you land. It's not intense but if you're willing to hike a little you can always find untouched lines and even a couple small cliffs. Prices are average for the area, go for the "Happy Ski Card" if you're gonna be in the area for a few days.
