Westendorf, Austria

Introduction

Westendorf is by far the best boarding spot in the Ski Welt area. Unlike the other resorts which make up the ski welt Westendorf stands alone and is only linked to the other resorts by road. If you’re anything but a beginner don’t let this put you off, as Westendorf is home to the only park of note in the area, some steep long off piste tree runs and some of the areas steepest and highest terrain. The backside of the mountain now connects up to the Kitzbuhel valley by an eight person bubble and a short bus ride (you will need a separate pass to ride in Kitzbuhel). Riding here you’ll be in the company of other boarders who are trying to escape the beginner friendly cruising pistes of the main ski welt area.
