Silver Star, Canada

Freeriding

Freeriders who start in the town should head down to the 6-man Comet Express which takes you to the top of the Vance Creek area, from here you can head down Big Dipper over a few rollers to the park, or back down one of the many groomed pistes to the chair. After warming up, take the flat Bergerstrasse green run to the hardcore Putnam Creek Area. The double-diamonds in this area are steep tree-lined chutes which will test the best.

Check out Wheres Bob and after 50 metres, drop left into a hidden chute which will join up with the bottom of Stardust. All the runs on the Putnam Creek area are only serviced by the Powder Gulch Express chair, so on a fresh snow day get there early.

Freestylers

Freestylers looking for air will be pleasantly surprised with the natural hits. However, with a two-acre funpark, you don't need to look far to find places to hit. The park is located below Big Dipper trail.

Pistes

Piste lovers will find this a challenging resort. The Milky Way is an excellent open area where big arcs can be accomplished with ease. However, the steepest carvable pistes are on the North Face slopes are where you'll be put to the test. Most of the Vance Creek area is well maintained but is always the busiest part of the resort.

Beginners

Beginners will find that Silver Star has a good selection of progressive runs easily accessed by chairlifts, although you will find youll have to negotiate some pathways to make the most of the resort.
