World Snowboard Guide 11th edition

Zelezna Ruda, Czech Republic

Introduction

Zelezen Ruda is one of the largest ski centres in the Czech Republic centred on a 16th century mining settlement. The Spicak snow area with its 9 lifts is popular with advanced riders, but it should be pointed out that the advanced terrain is limited to one difficult run. Spicak is linked by a shuttle bus to the other slopes (but the lift ticket is only valid on Spicak). Pancir, the other main rideable area, is served by a long chair and offers very easy trails. Prices throughout the area are low, but still slightly higher than in the rest of the Czech Republic.
