Montriond is an interesting member of the Portes Du Soleil resorts. A small, quiet village that doesn't have a great deal going on, which also doesn't have any ski-lifts within walking distance may appear to be an unlikely choice. Yet, being 'very french' will appear to some, as will the slower pace of the village, and although a bus is required, Montriond has good access to the centre of the Portes Du Soleil's slopes. If the quiet town of Montriond is appealing, don't be put off by the 'apparent' slope access. It's actually quite good.
