Rated 8 out of 10 after spending 3 months in Courch i feel its about time people were honest about this resort! yes it can be mega exspensive if you cant be bothered stay away from le jump, piggsy, les caves but here are a few jems, check out tj's, l'equipe amd hotel olympic bar for cheap pints and shots, kalico's is where to head after the bars if you dont want to remortgage your house to buy a round. For riding on powder days you have to head for 1650 for easy access off-piste lines and natural drops, for tree lines head from 1850 down to la tania. the park was a major let down and you should head over to meribel where there are two good parks and just dont come during the school holidays

Rated 8 out of 10 So, I' d read the WSG review of Courcheval and simply didn't believe it could be that expensive... Oh my God - 18 Euro for a pint of Guinness! That said, the resort is everything I'd hoped for. It has that special something, a feeling that's hard to describe. Simultaneously uber cool and utterly ridiculous, you'll spend hours sat in Le Jump people watching: the fashion mistakes some of the super rich make will have your eyes watering. To ride, the place was ideal for a relative newbie like me, with superb mountain infrastructure, although absolute beginners better look elsewhere - the nurseries are too short and are situated an exhausting trek up the mountain. Don't bother with ESF for board lessons as they are terrible ('why don't you try skiing? - it's easier'! Yeah, why don't you try effing off). I got a last minute deal in late March for £340 and stayed at Coq du Bruyere, a superbly 1850 located chalet hotel with 'typical alpine' tiny bedrooms, but excellent food and the staff were cool. Overall, Courchevel is an awesome place and I'll definitely visit again. December 06 in fact! 2 weeks xmas and new year. I'm nearly bankrupted by the expense but you only live once, I heard somewhere...

Courchevel 1850

Rated 8 out of 10 Just came back from 1850, stayed at Forum catered chalet with neilson, payed £480 including ski pass. Great resort but mega mega expensive, cheapest beer we could find was 7 euros in the jump bar just by the main lifts, if you had a sandwich and beer on the mountain u were looking at min 14euros, apart from the cost the boarding was fantastic, just a huge expanse of mountains over the 3 valleys you can just keep going and going, there were no crowds and the lift system is great and electronic on u pass. Big thumbs up, but so expensive you cant take the mrs!
