La Rosiere. Fun for a few days

Wed 14 January 2004 Tim
Rated 7 out of 10 la Rosiere is a beautiful small village on a valley opposite Les Arcs 2000. La Rosiere is set on the south face of the valley at 1850 metres. On a clear day, nearly all the slopes catch the sun which can mean that they are a little icey in the morning. The boarding is quite limited in the resort with the only freeriding being between the pistes back down to the main lifts and village. What does make La Rosiere worth a visit is that it is linked to La Thuile. La Thuile is worth a look as it has much more to keep you entertained and is covered by the lift pass. Also worth at least a days play is the area between the fort of La Rosiere and La Thuile, lots of off piste in deep snow with some interesting drops down from the fort. One word of caution, to reach La Thuile you'll need to be happy using drags as there are two quite long button lifts that take you there.
