Les Gets , France
Introduction
Linked to the 450kms of the Port du Soleil, Les Gets sits at 1172 meters to the south of Morzine. Its a small Savoyard village escaping the all too typical high rise developments that blight Avoriaz across the valley. Its possible to buy a Les Gets/Morzine pass which includes Le Mont-Chery, les Chavannes, Nyon and Le Pleney this adds up to 110km of red and blue pistes, which is fine for a weekend but if youre here for a week you should stump up the cash for the Port du Soleil Pass. Its an annoying walk across Morzine Village or a ridiculous mini train ride to access the lifts up to Avoriaz, but well worth it to both freeriders and freestylers as it opens up not only a great fun park but also another 340km of piste. Les Gets has spent more than 24 million Euros over the last two summers upgrading the lift system and creating a new access point outside the village, with a huge car park so as to keep the traditional vide to the village.
