Best places to snowboard in North America

We think these are the best 10 resorts overall to visit North America.

1.  Whistler/Blackcomb , Canada

Snowboard Guide rating 10 out of 10 “Major riding for all styles and all levels, especially backcountry and amazing park and pipes. But take note: lift queues can be very long, especially at Easter and Christmas. Avoid major holidays if an option and Sundays are quieter than Saturdays, especially on Blackcomb. Great summer riding on Blackcomb Glacier.”

4.  Mount Bachelor , USA

Snowboard Guide rating 10 out of 10 “Full-on freeriders resort offering great open and tree-lined riding on crowd free slopes ideal for all levels. Excellent local facitities of a high quality. Bachelor may not be steep but it makes up for this with awesome wind-enhanced terrain and decent parks. Some have described the Bachelor terrain as being similar to a snow covered skate park with all its windlips, transfers and transistions. Even with only a few inches of fresh (which is about every other day) you will have a great time thanks to the wind. Just stay on the wind protected sides of the ridges and you will find plenty of nice slashes and face shots.”

8.  Lake Louise , Canada

Snowboard Guide rating 9 out of 10 “Excellent freeriding on four mountain faces, slap bang in the heart of the Canadian Rockies giving a sense of true remoteness. Nightlife here is limited, however Banff (population 8000) is located a 45 minute drive away and provides a livelier after hill scene. A 'Tri-Area Lift Ticket' lift pass gives you access and free transport to the trio of 3 ski areas in the Rockies - Lake Louise, Sunshine Village and Mount Norquay. The first two complement one another well in their own individual ways and well worth riding. ”
